"The south has been clamoring for an Oxford 250 style event and the Mega Meltdown at Hickory is that event," said PASS President Tom Mayberry.
"MAVTV's flag-to-flag coverage of the Oxford 250 and the Mega Meltdown 300 will give short track racers and their sponsors the coverage that they so desperately deserve and we are glad that PASS can provide them with that."A winner's check of over ,000 will be on the line for Super Late Model racers during the inaugural Mason-Dixon Mega Meltdown on November 18.
The Mason-Dixon Mega Meltdown will be the Mid-Atlantic region's highest paying Super Late Model race and richest since PASS staged a 300 lapper at North Wilkesboro Speedway in 2011.
Additionally, the PASS event scheduled for September 23rd at Hickory will now be eliminated due to the recent announcement of Martinsville Speedway's Late Model Stock race being scheduled for that weekend.
Speed51.com, the nation's leading short track racing news site, will handle the production of the television broadcast.
The air date for the Mason-Dixon Mega Meltdown will be announced at a later time.
The PASS Super Late Models will stage a 300 green flag lap event on Saturday, November 18th at the legendary Hickory Motor Speedway.
This means that those watching on MAVTV will see drivers from both the north and south battling it out for bragging rights at "the birthplace of the NASCAR stars." , an American cable and satellite television channel owned by the automotive lubricant company Lucas Oil, has become the go-to channel for short track racing events in recent years.

"For quite some time, we have thought there was a place for an Oxford 250-style event in the South, and that time is now," said PASS President Tom Mayberry after a teleconference with potential sponsors today.
"Hickory has a history that is second to none in short track racing and we believe the Mason-Dixon Mega Meltdown will build on that legacy for years to come.
